Thunder 1 Win Manchester Firstball Tournament
Over the weekend of the 23rd & 24th April Manchester Firstball tournament took place at Parrs Wood. Club Thunder had 2 teams entered, Thunder 1 in the upper competition and Thunder 2 taking part in the lower comp.
With pretty much every type of weather experienced over the weekend barring snow, Thunder 1 came out at the end winning the tournament in a Final against another Manchester Team - The Lions, the final score was 11-6. Congratulation to Thunder 1's Mark Griffin who received the male MVP award for his pitching and batting in the final. Jade Shaw from the Lions won the female equivalent.
Thunder 2 managed to finish in the upper level of competition in the Rec tournament grabbing some notable scalps on their way. There was a nice blend of youth and experience in the Thunder 2 team with promising signs for the future with the progress the younger players are making.
All the results of the weekend are promising for the upcoming season which has now started.
